Use X in Omni Writes for single posts, multi-post threads, scheduled publishing, Calendar management, a mentions-based Replies inbox, and X Articles when entitlement and product flags allow.
X on Omni Writes is a Max-plan Stripe add-on, not part of Free or base Max. X’s own subscription (Standard / Basic / Premium), X API access, and Omni Writes billing are separate. This page covers product behavior and publish limits.

Connect X

1

Confirm Max and the X add-on

X connect and publish require an active Max subscription and an active X add-on. Activate the add-on from Channels if Omni Writes shows an Activate / requires-add-on state.
2

Open Channels

Go to Settings → Channels (or Connect Accounts).
3

Connect X

Choose X, start OAuth, and approve the permissions Omni Writes requests (including posting and media / media.write).
4

Confirm the account

After redirect, confirm the connected @username appears as connected.
5

Refresh Premium status if needed

If long-form limits or Articles look wrong, use the X refresh / subscription controls on the channel card so Omni Writes re-reads your X plan from the API.
If Omni Writes shows Reconnect Required, reconnect from Channels before scheduling or publishing. An account connected before media permission was granted may also need a fresh reconnect before media posts succeed.

Publish a post or thread

Select X in the composer, write the post, attach media, and choose Publish now or a future time. Use the thread composer for a chain (maximum 11 posts). Auto-split can break a long draft into multiple posts while staying inside that 11-post ceiling. Every post in a thread has its own text and media limits, and media belongs to the specific post where it was added.

X Articles

Articles are a separate long-form surface from posts and threads. They appear in the composer only when the deployment enables them and your X account qualifies. If Articles are hidden, confirm the flag, refresh X subscription data, or verify the connected account is on a qualifying X plan.

Text limits

X weights some Unicode characters differently. A standard post made entirely of CJK characters reaches the limit at about 140 visible characters (Premium CJK ceiling is lower than the full 25,000 weighted limit).
X’s own apps may allow longer native videos. Omni Writes publishes through the X API, so the API media rules below apply.

Media limits

Omni Writes keeps photos and GIFs slightly below X’s upload maximum to reduce processing failures.

GIF details

  • Maximum 1280 × 1080 pixels.
  • Maximum 350 frames.
  • Width × height × frame count must not exceed 300,000,000 pixel-frames.
  • A GIF cannot be combined with photos or video.

Video details

  • Dimensions: 32 × 32 through 1280 × 1024.
  • Aspect ratio: 1:3 through 3:1.
  • Frame rate: no more than 60 FPS.
  • Recommended: MP4 with H.264 video and AAC-LC audio.

Replies on X

With Max, an active X add-on, and X connected, Replies loads a mentions inbox for that account so you can review and send manual replies. This is not the same as Facebook/Instagram nested comment trees. Sent replies count toward the X add-on post quota. If mentions fail with a reconnect error, reconnect X and reload Replies.

Media availability

A scheduled file must remain available until publishing completes. If X accepts an upload but rejects the final post, replace or re-export the invalid media before retrying from Calendar.

Reconnect required

When X reports expired authorization, revoked access, or a missing permission, Omni Writes shows Reconnect Required. Reconnect from Settings → Channels, confirm the username, then retry the failed item from Calendar.
